A loud crash outside my home this afternoon startled me. Curious and alarmed, I rushed outside to investigate. I missed the dramatic moment of the strike, but I discovered a Peregrine Falcon contentedly devouring its catch. Though these raptors are native to British Columbia, I had never witnessed such a spectacular predatory display so close to home.
